Canadian Republic - République du Canada

Canada is a country with its own creative, productive, and defensive potential. The Canadian people have their own individuality and interests that are not identical nor properly represented by the anachronic institution of the British Crown. The Canadian people cannot be treated, considered, or referred to as "subjects". Canadians cannot be "ruled" by the intermediaries (governors) sent by a foreign land. The land that they work for centuries and that they are manifestly capable of defending by themselves belongs to them. The total dissolution of the political and all resulting ties with the British Crown is sine qua non for the independent development and for the unhindered evolution of Canada. Independence is something that is earned and it is the duty of all free-minded Canadians to sign this petition and address it to the Canadian government to start the transition to a Canadian Republic.
