Canadian Republic - République du Canada
Canada is a country with its own creative, productive, and defensive potential. The Canadian people have their own individuality and interests that are not identical nor properly represented by the anachronic institution of the British Crown.
The Canadian people cannot be treated, considered, or referred to as "subjects". Canadians cannot be "ruled" by the intermediaries (governors) sent by a foreign land.
The land that they work for centuries and that they are manifestly capable of defending by themselves belongs to them.
The total dissolution of the political and all resulting ties with the British Crown is sine qua non for the independent development and for the unhindered evolution of Canada.
Independence is something that is earned and it is the duty of all free-minded Canadians to sign this petition and address it to the Canadian government to start the transition to a Canadian Republic.
This petition refers strictly to the total dissolution of the political ties between Canada and the British Monarchy and the transition of Canada to the status of a Republic.
It makes and intends no reference to the other monarchies of the European Union and the world.
The transition to the status of a Republic would involve the following steps:
1) The signing of a Declaration of Independence, and
2) The organizing of a Constitutional Convention, imperative for the purpose of a constitutional reform including the following elements:
a) The change of the name of the country to "Canadian Republic/République canadienne", "The Republic of Canada/La République du Canada" or "The United States of Canada/Les Etats Unis Canadiens".
b) The modification of the Canadian flag and the establishment of a national anthem to reflect Canada's independent status.
c) The change of the previous nomenclature: e.i. "states" instead of "provinces".
d) The replacement of the monarchic relics with Independent Canada symbols and names (e.i. streets, and highways' names).
e) Sovereignty, veto rights, and equal treatment to all states (provinces).
f) The replacement of the office of Prime Minister with those of a President and a Vice-president with a maximum 2 terms in office of 4 years each.
The election of the President and Vice-president by direct, individual, and secret vote of the Canadian citizens.
g) The replacement of the RCMP by a Canadian Bureau of Investigation composed of selected members asked to pledge allegiance to the Canadian Republic only.
The transfer of the paramilitary function of the RCMP to the National Guard.
h) The constitutional right to own hunting rifles conditioned by a thorough background check.

Le Canada est un pays avec son propre potentiel créatif, productif et défensif. Le peuple canadien a sa propre individualité et ses propres intérêts qui ne sont pas identiques ni correctement représentés par l'institution anachronique de la Couronne britannique.
Le peuple canadien ne peut être traité, ni considéré, ni désigné comme « sujet ». Les Canadiens ne peuvent pas être "gouvernés" par les intermédiaires (gouverneurs) envoyés par un pays étranger.
La terre qu'ils travaillent depuis des siècles et qu'ils sont manifestement capables de défendre par eux-mêmes leur appartient.
La dissolution totale des liens politiques et de tous les liens qui en résultent avec la Couronne britannique est une condition sine qua non pour le développement indépendant et pour l'évolution sans entrave du Canada.
L'indépendance est quelque chose qui se mérite et il est du devoir de tous les Canadiens libres d'esprit de signer cette pétition et de l'adresser au gouvernement canadien pour amorcer la transition vers une République canadienne.
Cette pétition fait strictement référence à la dissolution totale des liens politiques entre le Canada et la monarchie britannique et à la transition du Canada au statut de république.
Il ne fait et n'entend aucune référence aux autres monarchies de l'Union européenne et du monde.
La transition au statut de République impliquerait les étapes suivantes :
1) La signature d'une déclaration d'indépendance, et
2) L'organisation d'une Convention constitutionnelle, impérative en vue d'une réforme constitutionnelle qui comprendrait les éléments suivants :
a) Le changement du nom du pays en « Canadian Republic/République canadienne », «The Republic of Canada/La République du Canada » ou "Les États-Unis du Canada/Les États Unis Canadiens".
b) La modification du drapeau canadien et l'établissement d'un hymne national pour refléter le statut indépendant du pays.
c) Le changement de la nomenclature précédente : e.i. "États" au lieu de "provinces".
d) Le remplacement des reliques monarchiques par des symboles et des noms du Canada indépendant (c.-à-d. rues, noms d'autoroutes).
e) Souveraineté, droit de veto et égalité de traitement pour tous les États (provinces).
f) Le remplacement des fonctions de Premier ministre par celles de Président et de Vice-président avec un maximum de 2 mandats de 4 ans chacun.
L'élection du Président et du Vice-président au suffrage direct, individuel et secret des citoyens canadiens.
g) Le remplacement de la GRC par un Bureau d'Enquête Canadien composé de membres sélectionnés appelés à prêter allégeance à la République canadienne uniquement.
Le transfert de la fonction paramilitaire de la GRC à la Garde nationale.
h) Le droit constitutionnel de posséder des fusils de chasse, après une vérification approfondie des antécédents.
